This is My Personal Health Journey

As the founder of True Health FDN, LLC. I have a 25 year background in physical therapy, fitness, supplemental nutrition and I am a Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner.

I live with my husband Tom in Arizona where we spend our free time traveling, hiking, biking, playing pickleball, kayaking, water skiing, snow skiing and RVing with friends and family. I became a FDN practitioner because I have always had a passion for helping people and I love being of service to others.

Over the last several decades I have had more than my share of mystery illnesses. My journey began 20 years ago while living and working in the Rocky Mountains in the beautiful state of Colorado.

One day, I was cleaning my kitchen range hood using an aerosol stainless steel cleaner. Thirty minutes after spraying the cleaner on the range hood, I had started coughing and my throat felt sore so I knew I had unintentionally breathed it into my lungs. I drank some water and didn't give it much more thought.

Two days later, I was still coughing, had a sore throat and now my legs had turned purple! I went to see my acupuncturist who is a Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. He told me I had stagnant blood in my heart and that I should see a cardiologist. Well, I waited until after a trip we had planned. One evening on this trip I had an episode of a stabbing pain in the middle of my back. I got up from the bed and walked around until it subsided and went back to bed to try to sleep but couldn't. I was afraid I was having a heart attack.

Because of that severe stabbing pain, I called my doctor while we were driving back home. He told me to come in immediately and he would make an appointment for me with a cardiologist. That week, I had every kind of cardiac testing available. He told me women have totally different signs and symptoms of a heart attack then men. After all the tests the results showed I had 99% blockage in the LAD, known as the "widow maker."

The cardiologist said it was critical that I do an angiogram to put a stent in the blocked artery and not knowing what else I could do, I agreed. After the angiogram, the cardiologist said I did not have cholesterol plaque causing the blockage. The months following, I needed continued intervention every 6-8 weeks, 9 angiograms to be exact. The cardiologist kept saying he had no idea what the substance was because it was hard as glass and it kept coming back. His assumption was that the stainless steel aerosol cleaner must of had a bacteria or some kind of pathogen in it that attacked my lungs which ended up in my heart causing stenosis in the arteries. He decided it would be best to do a coronary bypass surgery of the two affected arteries. Not knowing of any other alternative treatments, I agreed to have open heart surgery.

Then fast forward 10 years later, I was having severe PMS and hormonal changes, severe gut issues, adrenal exhaustion, and then a thyroid deficiency. Although, my heart was now fine, I was dealing with Metabolic chaos from my body going through extreme stress. I went from one specialist to another and experienced each doctor telling me all my labs were in the normal limits and nothing was wrong with me even though I felt so crappy. I knew something was wrong but not one doctor helped me with my health concerns. I was given prescription drugs for all my symptoms and that made me feel even worse.

Stress can cause the body to function in a fight or flight mode for years when we experience any kind of life crisis. The loss of a loved one, loss of a job, any kind of major life changes due to injury or illness including any kind of mental or emotional stress. It can cause organ systems to have a domino effect creating metabolic chaos throughout the entire body.

After doing ongoing research through the years I finally came across Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® (FDN). I did extensive research investigating. I decided to advance my education in healthcare and I enrolled to become a Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner. Shortly after starting the program, I began implementing some of the protocols on myself and with in 2 weeks I was feeling better. I had more energy than I had felt in a long time. By following the plan from my FDNP Clinical Advisor, it seemed like my body was able to receive the nutrition it was deprived of. I was healing my gut, my hormones and thyroid all at the same time.

By utilizing specific functional lab data and using clinical correlation to my symptoms I was able to find specific healing opportunities to heal my own body and turn back my biological age and find my True Health. I learned how to apply natural remedies.

I learned about Genetic testing and used supplementation to help my body turn on or off specific DNA SNP's which helped me have more energy and improved mental clarity. I optimized my hormones, improved my immune system, lowered oxidative stress and environmental stressors, removed inflammation and detoxified my body to have fully optimized health. All it takes is following your protocol and you will start to feel subtle changes occurring which will motivate you even more. Eventually, you start to feel the transformation taking place within your body. You recognize the value of this type of healing. It becomes a new way of living life to its fullest, happy and healthy.

It was very important to me that I was able to heal myself and my husband. I improved his function and optimized his hormones. It was amazing how fast he transformed his body composition with the right peptides and weight lifting exercises. Once I became certified, I began coaching and motivating others in their health journey to optimize their health.

Since starting True Health FDN, I have helped men and women ages 15 - 88 in successful outcomes.

My mission with True Health FDN is to help educate and transform the health of as many men and women as possible to live in a body that is functioning optimally.
